Mourinho v Parma / Guidolin

Inter boss José Mourinho faces Parma and their coach Francesco Guidolin for the first time in his career.

Guidolin v Inter

In 23 meetings with Inter, Francesco Guidolin has led teams to 4 victories, 5 draws and 14 defeats. Bologna's 2-1 home win in Serie A on 10 February 2002 was his last victory against the Nerazzurri. The current Parma boss has managed only one clean sheet in away games - on 3 May 1997 when his Vicenza team won 1-0. His teams have let in a total of 17 goals in the other 11 matches against Inter in Milan.

2006/07 Serie A Palermo-Inter 1-2 2-2
2007/08 Serie A Palermo-Inter ---- 1-2

Inter: only one defeat in last 32 home matches

Italian champions Inter have lost just one of their last 32 home games (a 1-0 defeat to Panathinaikos on 26 November 2008), winning 20 and drawing 11 of the other 31.

Inter: one KO in last 42 home Serie A fixtures

Inter have lost just one of their last 41 home Serie A matches (a 2-1 defeat to Juventus on 22 March 2008), winning 32 and drawing 9 of the other 40. The Nerazzurri have failed to score in just one of their last 77 league games at home (a 0-0 draw with Genoa on 26 October 2008), scoring 168 goals in the other 76 matches.

Mancini & goals against Parma

Amantino Mancini has scored more against Inter, Palermo, Torino and Parma than any other team in Italy, with five goals against each of these four clubs. The Brazilian has scored a total of 60 goals in competitive matches for Italian clubs.

Mixed fortunes in last meeting between Inter and Parma

In a dramatic top versus bottom encounter on the last day of the 2007/08 Serie A season on 18 May 2008, Inter beat Parma 2-0 to secure their 16th league title. That defeat was fatal to the Gialloblu, who suffered their first ever relegation to Serie B.

Guidolin's teams on fire in September

According to the stats, Francesco Guidolin's teams always do well in September. He has a points per match average of 1.79 for the ninth month of the year (25 wins, 13 draws and 11 defeats from 49 games).

Parma unbeaten, on target in last ten

The Gialloblu are unbeaten on the road since 6 February 2009, when they lost 2-0 to Ancona. In their 10 away games since that defeat, Parma have collected 4 wins and 6 draws (five out of last five), scoring in every match for a total of 24 goals.

Dellafiore set for 100th appearance

If he plays against Inter in Serie A Week 3, ex-Nerazzurri defender Pablo Hernan Dellafiore will complete a century of appearances since turning professional. The Argentine, who made his competitive debut in Inter's 3-0 Champions League win over Anderlecht on 7 December 2004, has played 75 times in Serie A, 13 in Serie C1, 6 in Coppa Italia and 5 in European competitions. Besides Inter and Parma, he has also played for Spezia, Treviso, Palermo and Torino.

Watch out for Panucci

Another ex-Inter player, Cristian Panucci, has scored 4 goals in games against the Nerazzurri. The veteran defender, who has netted 47 goals for Italian clubs, has also scored 4 against Piacenza and Sampdoria.

MILAN - Samuel Eto'o scored a second-half stunner and his strike partner Diego Milito added a cheeky goal as Inter saw off a gritty Parma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Cameroonian striker's goal - straight out of the top drawer - came at just the right time, with frustration setting in after seventy goalless minutes.

Two minutes short of the ninety, Il Principe tucked home Balotelli's cross to make sure of the points.

Chivu and Stankovic returned from international duty with the flu, forcing José Mourinho to make two changes to the team that beat AC Milan 4-0 a fortnight ago. Santon slotted in at left-back while Vieira patrolled the right side of midfield with Zanetti filling the central role.

Eleven minutes into the match Inter had two quick chances to take the lead. Sneijder latched on to Eto'o's deflected cross and saw his snapshot parried by Mirante. Thiago Motta failed to find the target with his header from the resulting corner.

Parma's only meaningful chance of the opening forty-five fell to their captain Morrone, who wriggled into the box before sending a diagonal shot straight at Julio Cesar. Inter launched a fast counter-attack and Mirante kept out a fierce drive from Zanetti.

A goalless first half called for a change in formation and Mourinho threw on Balotelli in place of Thiago Motta. The nineteen-year-old Italian made an immediate impact as the Nerazzurri looked more dangerous coming forward.

Parma, though, were always a threat and Inter youth academy product Jonathan Biabiany made two teasing runs, pulling his shot wide after the second.

The breakthrough came in the 71st minute when Eto'o received from Balotelli and turned Lanzafame to create space to curl his brilliant shot beyond Mirante and into the top right corner.

Rene Krhin came on for Sneijder in the 78th minute and celebrated his competitive debut for Inter ten later when Milito controlled Balotelli's right-wing cross in the box and fired past Mirante with the outside of his right foot.
