Mancini one away from century of victories

Inter's win at Ascoli two weeks ago was Roberto Mancini's 99th since taking over as Inter coach. Mancini has won 65 times in the Serie A, 16 in the Coppa Italia, 16 in European competitions and twice in the Italian Super Cup. The first of his 99 Inter victories was the 4-1 Champions League qualifying win at home to Basel on 24 August 2004.

Inter close to yet another record

The record-breaking 2006/07 Inter side are three wins away from equalling the club's record of 27 victories in one Serie A season, set in 1950/51. The absolute record for the Italian championship belongs to the Great Torino side, who racked up 29 victories in 1947/48, the only Italian league season to be played with 21 teams over 42 matchdays.

Grosso set for 300th appearance as professional

If he plays against the Gialloblu, Inter defender Fabio Grosso will celebrate his 300th competitive match for an Italian club since turning professional. The world champion has played 153 matches in the Serie A, 21 in the Serie B, 68 in the Serie C2, 25 in the Coppa Italia, 25 in European competitions and 7 in other tournaments. Grosso, who has worn the shirts of Chieti, Teramo, Perugia, Palermo and Inter, made his professional debut in Chieti 0-0 Frosinone, a Serie C match played on 7 February 1999.

Inter's second-half form

Inter have improved their results in the second halves of matches this season to earn 20 points, more than any other team taking part in the 2006/07 Serie A championship.

Ranieri's April results

With a points per match average of 1.71, April is the most profitable month of the footballing season for teams coached by Claudio Ranieri. The Roman coach has collected 14 victories, 13 draws and just 5 defeats from 32 matches played in April. For obvious reasons we have excluded the month of August, in which Ranieri has a points per match average of 2.

Record unbeaten run of season for Parma

The Gialloblu are unbeaten since their 1-0 home defeat to Sampdoria on 18 February 2007, with a win and 4 draws from their last five games.

Last Parma away win almost a year ago

Parma are without a Serie A away win since their 2-1 victory over Sampdoria on 15 April 2006. Since that date, the Gialloblu have collected 7 draws and 10 defeats on their travels.

MILAN - Maxwell and Hernan Crespo scored to lead Inter to victory over Parma and put Inter twenty points clear of Roma with nine games of the Serie A season remaining.

The Brazilian full-back opened his scoring account with a sublime solo goal on 56 minutes. Crespo slotted home against his former club fourteen minutes later to hand Roberto Mancini his 100th victory as Inter coach.

Cambiasso, back in the team for the first time since sustaining an injury in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Valencia, almost got the afternoon off to a perfect start but stabbed wide after a Stankovic cross.

Francesco Toldo, between the posts in place of Julio Cesar, kept out efforts from Rossi, Gasbarroni as relegation-threatened Parma created plenty of early opportunities.

Inter stepped up a gear in the fifteen-minute period before the interval. Marco Materazzi had an overhead kick tipped over by Bucci then Crespo crashed a close-range volley just over.

Maxwell delighted the Meazza with a memorable opening goal after the restart. The Brazilian wing-back won the ball on the touchline, one-twoed with Crespo, slalomed past three Parma defenders and crashed his shot into the roof of the net.

Rossi fired a low shot narrowly wide as a spirited Parma side fought hard for a leveller. But Hernan Crespo increased Inter's lead on 70 minutes, sidefooting into an open net after receiving square from Adriano.

The Gialloblu's continued efforts were thwarted by Francesco Toldo, who pulled off a reflex save from Parma's man of the match Gasbarroni .

Inter went close to a deserved third when Adriano's header from Recoba's pinpoint curling cross hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced back off the line.

Gasbarroni then had a flicked effort cleared off the line by Maicon after his initial shot was parried by Toldo, who minutes later made a crucial block from ex-Inter playmaker Domenico Morfeo.

Adriano could have made extra sure of the points late on but fired over after collecting a crossfield pass from Mariano Gonzalez.

Both goalkeepers were called into action in time added on, Recoba forcing Bucci into a diving save before Rossi tested Toldo with a diagonal shot.
