Born in 1971, 2 appearances in the Inter shirt in the 90’s, he comes to Inter after his last two experiences as coaching director of SPAL and sporting director of Siena

The paths of Inter and Massimo Tarantino cross again. The former defender, who made two appearances with the Nerazzurri shirt in the mid-1990s, is the new Director of the club's Youth Sector.

Tarantino, born in 1971, grew up footballing with Cosmos Palermo, before wearing the Catania shirt and then moving to Napoli, where he played from 1989 to 1996. It was 1996 that he made his move to the Nerazzurri: a transfer that crowned the dream of Tarantino, who had always been a Nerazzurri fan. The adventure was undermined, however, by a serious injury, which meant he only made two appearances in the Coppa Italia. He then moved to Bologna, where he played for five seasons, ending his career with stints at Como, Triestina and Pavia.

It was in Pavia that Tarantino's off-field career began, as he became the sporting director of the Lombardy team. In 2010 the move to Bologna, in their youth sector, first as a team manager and then as head of the youth academy.

From July 2013 to September 2019 he served as head of Roma's youth sector, together with Bruno Conti.

In the 2021-2022 season, he became director of the coaching department of Spal, while his last position before joining Inter was as sporting director of Siena.

Massimo Tarantino is welcomed back to the Nerazzurri by the club and the entire Inter family, along with a bid of good luck for his important assignment.

“I feel so much joy: when you join a big club like Inter you can't help but be happy. I'm excited and curious. For me it's a second chance in the Nerazzurri: I grew up listening to Inter matches on the radio and as a footballer I wasn't able to live the experience to the full. I wasn't able to achieve that dream as a player, now I have a new opportunity. I feel the responsibility to coach players but above all people: Inter have always done it, I will try to do it to the best of my ability. The goals are to train, and to create technical, human and economic values. Above all, I want to make it up to the Club with my work.”
