“I’m always optimistic and have a smile on my face because I’m a representative of Inter, a great Club. The group is a balanced one, but, as always, it depends on us. The path Inter has been on in recent years has been very positive. Five years ago, we were 80th in the UEFA club coefficient ranking and now we’re eighth thanks to the work of all the Club’s components. I’m very confident: Inter is back in a position befitting of its history. You must always have dreams and objectives: improving on what we did last year would mean winning the competition. We shouldn’t be overconfident, but there is a need to be ambitious. Our history speaks for itself: we’ll take part with the ambition to do very well, and we’ll do so with all the qualities we have at our disposal. In terms of characteristics, we have a different team compared to last season, with Inzaghi’s leadership having helped the players to grow in the past couple of years. The group has made strides forward over the years, and we can be proud of ourselves. I have to say that we’re happy with the work we do with Ausilio and Baccin, which is aimed at satisfying the Coach and shoring up the squad. We’ve managed to retain some important players and not give in to certain requests that have come our way. From now until tomorrow evening, we want to take advantage of opportunities in the transfer market to further shore up a team that already offers us guarantees. We’re assessing different situations, are very active and have very clear ideas. We’ll see how it plays out tomorrow.”
