PORTO - A historic moment for Inter, who are back in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in twelve years. This is what Giuseppe Marotta, the Nerazzurri's CEO Sport, had to say following the game against Porto:
"We need to congratulate the Coach and players for this prestigious feat that Inter hadn't achieved since 2011. It's come after a lot of criticism, some of it unfair. Now, we'll approach the remainder of the season with three objectives still to achieve. We'll enjoy this evening, which is a reward for all our efforts. I'd like to thank the Inter fans who were present, and my thoughts are also with the numerous fans who couldn't enter the stadium despite having purchased a legitimate ticket. We'll make a complaint to UEFA and seek dialogue to understand what happened because this is a serious matter; I saw some really upset children and families. It's something we are very sorry about and adds a sour taste to the evening; these are things that shouldn't happen to any fans because football should be about experiencing joy and coming together."
