It will be Inter vs. Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 round of 16. This was the verdict from the draw in Nyon that sees Inter on the right side of the bracket. The Nerazzurri will face the side from Rotterdam who, in the play-offs, eliminated AC Milan (1-0 and 1-1).
Inter Vice President, Javier Zanetti - who played in one of our only two previous fixtures against Feyenoord in 2002, the second leg of the UEFA Cup semi-final - commented on the draw.
“Our journey in the Champions League has been ideal. Now, on the other hand, another kind of competition begins. Feyenoord deserve respect because we’ve seen what they’ve managed to do, we’ll prepare our best for both fixtures and we have all that we need to go forward. The games obviously have to be played and it all comes down to us. We have a lot of responsibility because we are Inter, the Champions League is a prestigious competition and we will try to take Italy as far as possible. We cannot make choices, we have to aim to go as far as we can in all competitions. We know what it means to be Champions of Italy, then there is also the Champions League which we will do justice at the same time, trying to get to the final like we did two years ago. We know that it’s difficult but we want to go all the way, we can’t pick one competition over another. I think that the doubts about us come from the outside, we don’t have any ourselves. We know what it means to compete in Italy and in Europe. When you have to play that many games, it’s not easy to always be at your best but we will try to prepare in the best way. There are always many struggles during a game and in certain periods, but we’re working to always give our all.”
