MILANO - Never forget, keep the memory alive, always. On Holocaust Memorial Day, Inter remembers all of the innocent victims of the Holocaust. A terrible page in human history that saw men, women, and children pay the price of unthinkable racism. Stories of lives thrown away, like that of Arpad Weisz, an iconic coach from the 1930s. Born in Solt, Hungary, on 16 April 1896, he was madly in love with football and was one of the first to theorise on tactics. It only took him one season as Inter Head Coach to win the Scudetto, in 1929/30. He discovered and shared the talent of a young Giuseppe Meazza with the world.
Hungarian of Jewish origin, he fled Italy with his family in 1938 after the Italian Racial Laws came into full force, but would later lose his life at Auschwitz.
Every year, Inter keeps alive the memory of the victims of the Nazi concentration and extermination camps, because it teaches us to never replicate a tragedy that represents one of the darkest pages of history. To never forget.
