These are the 12 players who have already been inducted into the Inter Hall of Fame:

2018 edition: Walter Zenga, Javier Zanetti, Lothar Matthaus, Ronaldo.2019 edition: Francesco Toldo, Giacinto Facchetti, Dejan Stankovic, Giuseppe Meazza.2020 edition: Julio Cesar, Giuseppe Bergomi, Esteban Cambiasso, Diego Milito.

Today we find out who the ten goalkeeping candidates vying to follow in the footsteps of Zenga, Toldo and Julio Cesar are. They all meet the criteria of making at least 60 competitive appearances for Inter, winning at least one trophy, retiring as a player at least three years ago or having retired as part of the 2010 treble-winning team.

IVANO BORDON (13 April 1951) Bordon made 382 appearances for Inter between 1970 and 1983 and set a record for the most minutes without conceding a goal (686 between Weeks 4 and 11 in 1979/80). His connection with Inter began in the youth ranks and his journey to the first team culminated in him making his first two senior appearances in fiery conditions: a Milan derby and the second half of the infamous “Game of the Can” in Monchengladbach. Bordon won two Scudetti (1970/71 and 1979/80) and two Coppa Italias (1978 and 1982).

LORENZO BUFFON (19 December 1929) Buffon made 89 Inter appearances and won the 1962/63 Scudetto. His spectacular playing style was also familiar to city rivals AC Milan, where he won four league titles.

ANGELO CAIMO (14 July 1914 – 10 May 1998) At Inter player from the 1939/40 season until 1942/43, he made 63 appearances and won the Scudetto in 1939/40.

PIERO CAMPELLI (20 December 1893 – 20 October 1946) The goalkeeper in Inter’s maiden Scudetto-winning side in 1910, Campelli played in Nerazzurri colours from 1909 until 1925, making 179 appearances. A second Scudetto followed a decade later in 1920.

VALENTINO DEGANI (14 February 1905 – 8 November 1974) Degani made 176 appearances between 1924 and 1938 for Ambrosiana Inter. The incredibly agile shotstopper won the 1929/30 Scudetto.

GIORGIO GHEZZI (10 July 1930 - 12 December 1990) Nicknamed “Kamikaze”, Ghezzi was notoriously fearless charging off his line and had a strong personality. He played for Inter from 1951 to 1958, winning back-to-back Scudetti in 1953 and 1954. An Nerazzurri icon, he went on to become a successful entrepreneur after hanging up his gloves.

GIANLUCA PAGLIUCA (18 December 1966) Filling Walter Zenga’s shoes would have been a tall order for anyone but Pagliuca took it in his stride, winning over the fans with some unforgettable saves along the way. A formidable goalkeeper who gave the club five years of solid service, racking up 234 appearances and winning the UEFA Cup in 1998.

GIUSEPPE PERUCHETTI (30 October 1907-21 May 1995) Reflexes, bravery and a touch of madness – like any goalkeeper worth his salt. Dubbed the “Black Panther” for his acrobatic saves, Giuseppe Peruchetti turned out for Inter 115 times between 1936 and 1940, winning two league titles and a Coppa Italia. He later spent a season in the Inter dugout.

GIULIANO SARTI (2 October 1933 - 5 June 2017) Sarti offered few frills but plenty of substance. 198 appearances as the No.1 of La Grande Inter: two Scudetti (1965 and 1966), two European Cups (1964 and 1965) and two Intercontinental Cups 1964 and 1965.
