Find out the key figures behind Inter’s win over Udinese

Simone Inzaghi’s side produced a solid performance against a defensively resolute Udinese unit that held firm for long periods of the game.

The 2-0 victory over Luca Gotti’s charges mirrored the success over Empoli in midweek and was the first time the Nerazzurri have kept back-to-back clean sheets so far this term.

Inter were dominant in terms of ball retention throughout the game, registering 67% possession, with which the team created a similar number of chances in each half. Nicolo Barella had seven of the team’s eight first-half attempts on goal, while there were seven after the interval, two of which were converted by Joaquin Correa.

Inter doubled Udinese’s passing tally (631 and 305), while Alessandro Bastoni led the way with 103 ahead of the industrious Marcelo Brozovic. The Croat finished the game with a stunning pass completion rate of 95% out of his 92 balls, during a game in which he covered 13 kilometres, which was almost 50% more than any other player on the pitch. The midfielder also won the ball back on seven occasions, earning him a place at the top of the charts alongside Milan Skriniar.

Andrea Ranocchia made a big impact during his first start of the season, winning 80% of the 15 duels that he took part in, 12 of which were aerial. The defender also made six blocks and won back possession four times.

MATCH FACTS

Correa marked his Inter debut back in August with a brace away to Verona, while he followed up with another crucial double to help Inter beat Udinese on Sunday. The Argentine is on a run of scoring two goals in the last four games in which he has found the net, with two apiece for Lazio and Inter.

Tucu scored his first Serie A goals for Inter and Lazio (September 2018) as a starter against Udinese.

After getting on the scoresheet on Sunday, Inter’s record for scoring in consecutive Serie A home fixtures now stands at 25, which is the longest run since 2017.

The victory at San Siro was Milan Skriniar’s 100th win in Serie A in 185 appearances.
