Team
— Dec 12th 2024After six matchdays, the Nerazzurri have 13 points
The first defeat in the Champions League - which came in the 90th minute away to Leverkusen - leaves Inter on 13 points after six matches in the League Phase. The European campaign has come to an end in 2024, before returning in January, when Inter will end the campaign with clashes against Sparta Praha and Monaco. Liverpool remain top of the standings, with 18 points, ahead of Barcelona who are on 15. There are six teams following behind, including Inter, on 13 points: these are the top eight teams who will currently advance directly to the last-16 , without having to face any of the teams between 9th and 24th place in the elimination phase.
In the league phase, in the case of equal number of points, the standings are determined on goal difference. Inter, have scored seven and conceded one, meaning we are on a goal difference of +6. This puts the nerazzurri in sixth position: Arsenal have a goal difference of +9, Bayer Leverkusen +7, Aston Villa +6 (but they have scored more goals, 9). In the Champions League, Inter will take on Sparta Praha in Czech Republic on Wednesday 22 January at 21:00 CET, and will finish the campaign in the League Phase on Wednesday 29 January at 21:00 CET at San Siro.
