PARMA - Alexis Sanchez scored his first two-goal haul in Italian football, and his first for the Nerazzurri obviously. The Chilean did, however, score four in a game for Udinese in a 7-0 win away at Palermo. In Parma, as a starter, our number 7 did not falter, scoring two massive goals that brought all three points to Inter and took Alexis to five goals in Serie A this season, one more than in the whole of the 2019/20 campaign.
The last brace scored by a Chilean for Inter was Ivan Zamorano in 1999 against... Parma! After the game, Alexis spoke to Sky Sport: “It was a tough game but this league is like that. You need to fight if you want to win. We’re on the right track and just need to think about ourselves and about not making mistakes.”
Alexis on the turning point: “After the Europa League final defeat, the whole group improved a lot - especially the younger lads - thanks to the great work done by the coach. We’ve taken the next step.”
“I’d always like to play. I’m like a lion that always wants to play but I make my experience available to the coach. I love this sport; I want to play and I think you can see that on the pitch. I’m happy with the game today. We all made sacrifices and we prepared well for this game with the coaching staff.”
