MILAN – After Inter’s victory in the Champions League, it’s back to Serie A action: in collaboration with Opta, we take a look at the numbers behind the upcoming match between Sampdoria and Inter on Saturday evening.

Sampdoria have lost more games to Inter than any other team in Serie A: the Nerazzurri have recorded 65 wins compared to 20 for the Blucerchiati (37 draws). Inter are also the team Sampdoria have conceded the most goals against in Serie A: 222 goals.

Together with Fiorentina, Sampdoria are the team Mauro Icardi has enjoyed the most success against: the Argentinian has scored ten goals in nine games against the Blucerchiati. Mauro Icardi scored ten goals in 31 games for Sampdoria in Serie A. He also made two appearances for them in Serie B, scoring one goal. Still without a goal in Serie A this season, the last time the Nerazzurri striker went four Serie A games in a row without scoring was October 2016.

The last goal Miranda scored in Serie A was against Sampdoria in February 2016. Danilo D’Ambrosio has scored two goals in Serie A against Sampdoria, both of which came at San Siro. Ivan Perisic scored his first Serie A goal against Sampdoria, with this coming at the Ferraris in October 2015. Only Callejon (15) and Luis Alberto (13) have created more goalscoring opportunities than Matteo Politano (11) so far this season.

Stefan de Vrij’s next appearance will be his 100th in Serie A. Daniele Padelli was once a part of Sampdoria’s team but never made an appearance. Andrea Ranocchis played 14 times in the Sampdoria shirt during the 2015/16 Serie A season. Before moving to Inter, Milan Skriniar played 38 games for the Blucerchiati in Serie A.
