It was a perfect start to the Nations League for Denzel Dumfries and Kristjan Asllani, both of whom started for their respective national teams.
The Nerazzurri wing-back lined up in a four-man defence and played for 66 minutes in the Netherlands' 5-2 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Zirkzee, Reijnders, Gakpo, Weghorst and Simons all found the net for Ronald Koeman's side. Denzel Dumfries will return to Milano after the Oranje have faced Germany at the Amsterdam ArenA on Tuesday evening.
Albania also emerged victorious away to Ukraine. Head Coach Sylvinho played Asllani for the entire match, which finished 2-1 to his side. Ismajli and Asani scored for the Albanians, who joined Georgia on three points. On Tuesday, Albania will face the Georgians with the aim of finishing the first international break of the season on top of their group.
