MILAN – After securing two league titles in three days, the Nerazzurri Under-19s and Under-18s got together to celebrate their success at Botinero in Milan on Thursday evening.
Stefano Vecchi, Gianmario Corti, the players and other academy representatives were joined by Inter's senior management for the occasion.
Steven Zhang had words of praise and thanks for the academy's achievements.
"I want to congratulate you all. We're really very proud of you. On behalf of the club, I wish to thank all the people who work in our academy.
“Success is never down to chance: you get there with hard work, the right mentality and by always striving to do your best. The future of this club is in our youth academy. You've shown what it means to wear the Inter jersey and you're a fine example to all of us. Thank you for honouring our club and our values.”
Academy chief Roberto Samaden added: “Besides the coaches and the boys themselves, I'd also like to thank all the other people who have helped us along the way. The support they give these lads on a daily basis is crucial.
“Likewise, having the management here on an evening like tonight is hugely important as it shows once again how supportive of our work the club is.
“Our aim is to keep on giving our all and I'm sure that's what we'll do.”
Sporting director Piero Ausilio concluded: “Inter's real strength lies in all the people who work here day in day out to ensure that those who go out onto the pitch can perform to the very best of their ability.
“We've built a great group, from the kitmen through to the coaches. They are the people, besides the players, who bring us success.
“We've played in lots of finals and won lots of trophies. We just need to keep on this path, showing the determination and passion needed to represent Inter as well as we possibly can.”
