Career Story
Federico Dimarco, born in Milano on 10 November 1997, was seven years old when he pulled on the Inter shirt for the first time. Having grown up in the Porta Romana district of Milano, he started playing for Calvairate before being signed to Inter’s youth sector. What followed was a long journey through the age groups at the Club right up to the Primavera.
On 11 December 2014, he made first first team debut for the Nerazzurri, coming on for Danilo D’Ambrosio in the second half of Qarabag vs Inter. While playing for the Primavera, he won the Viareggio Cup before making his Serie A debut for Inter on 31 May 2015: he came on to replace Palacio late on in a 4-3 win at home to Empoli.
A lethal left-footed player who has bags of ability over a dead ball, he was often deployed as a left winger for the Primavera, before gradually converting into his current role. Ascoli, Empoli, Sion and Parma, with the odd big injury, were the stages of his career before returning to Inter in 2019. He made four appearances and then made a loan move to Hellas Verona, where he played for a second and half, scoring five goals in 50 appearances.
He’s been back at the Club since the summer of 2021 and made 42 appearances, scoring two goals, in his first season. On 12 September of the same year, he scored his first goal for Inter, converting a stunning free-kick against Sampdoria.
He nailed down a starting berth last season, making 50 appearances and scoring six goals. He scored his first brace for Inter on 9 November 2022 in a 6-1 win against Bologna. He also had his say in the Supercoppa, opening the scoring as Inter triumphed over AC Milan in Riyadh. He also scored a massive goal in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus. He got his break for Italy in 2022 and has since won ten caps for the Azzurri, scoring two goals.
To date, he has won two Coppa Italia titles and two Supercoppa Italiana titles. Dimarco’s story with Inter continues.
