Dimarco and Inter's story together continues

An exciting journey, a story of belonging and unique values. Federico Dimarco and Inter will remain together until 2027. The Nerazzurri winger's contract extension comes after two extraordinary seasons, where he has developed into becoming bedrock for Simone Inzaghi's team. Game after game, Dimarco has provided exceptional qualitative and quantitative contribution, transforming himself into one of the Nerazzurri's driving forces, winning two Coppa Italia, two Italian Super Cups and reaching the Champions League final in Istanbul. His trusty left-foot and exceptional tactical intelligence have allowed him to reinterpret the role of left winger with dynamism and unpredictability, and he has lit up the eyes of all Nerazzurri fans with his plays.

Dimarco and Inter are united by an inimitable DNA. Born in Milano on 10 November 1997, Federico was seven years old when he wore the Nerazzurri shirt for the first time. He took his first footballing steps with Calvairate and then continued his journey in the Inter youth sector, from the Pulcini level right up until the Primavera. He started out as a striker originally and scored important goals, even in derbies, with his famous left foot. He then moved position and the left wing role has been his ever since. With the Primavera, he won the 2015 Viareggio Tournament. His first team debut came on 11 December 2014, when he entered the fray as a second-half sub against Qarabag. On 31 May 2015, he made his first Serie A appearance, coming on in place of Palacio at the end of Inter 4-3 Empoli. He had spells at Ascoli, Empoli, Sion and Parma, picking up some injuries along the way, before returning to Inter in 2019 making four appearances. Then, he joined Hellas Verona on loan for a season and a half, playingwith 50 games and grabbing five goals.

In the summer of 2021, he returned to don the Inter jersey, collecting 42 appearances and scoring two goals in his first season back. On 12 September of the same year, he scored his first goal for the Nerazzurri, converting a wonderful free-kick into the top corner against Sampdoria. Last season, he earned a starting place 50 times and got six goals. On 9 November 2022, he scored his first brace for Inter in the 6-1 win over Bologna. In the Super Cup won in Riyadh against AC Milan, he made his mark in the game by breaking the deadlock. He also scored an important goal in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus. In the Champions League, his excellent performances saw him included in UEFA's end of the season Best 11 team. In 2022, he received calls to the senior national team, making 16 appearances and topped off with two goals; he was also part of the Azzurri squad that qualified for Euro 2024.

This season, he is continuing to demonstrate his extraordinary qualities, above all proving effective and decisive offensively. In 21 appearances so far, he has netted three times and provided four assists: he is the defender to have been involved in the most number of goals in this 2023/24 Serie A season.
