From the first Supercoppa to tonight's clash with a Nerazzurri thread linked to a legendary goalkeeper, a piece of Inter history: Walter Zenga. The first ever goalkeeper to enter the Inter Hall of Fame, l'Uomo Ragna spoke to us about the first Supercoppa Italiana won by Inter. It was 1989, at the second edition of the tournament, the Nerazzurri won thanks to goals from Cucchi and Serena in a match also remembered for his extraordinary saves:
“It was a tough match, Sampdoria had Vialli, Mancini, Vierchowod... it was a fearsome team. The Supercoppa was still a young trophy, in its second year, it was played at the home of the league winners and we had just won the Scudetto. In those years Sampdoria had also managed to win the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and reached the final at Wembley in the Champions Cup. It was certainly a team in the elite of the Italian league, and by winning that Cup we had put something important in our trophy cabinet.”

“The most memorable game for me is always the first, because it allowed me to play 472 more with Inter, this thought has been fundamental in my career. The most exciting save? The last one, the one against FC Salzburg, the perfect ending to say goodbye to a club that I still love madly. Everything I have done is a result of my passion for my work, my desire to constantly improve and to always give 100%.”
