Youth League, Real Sociedad 3 - 3 Inter

The U19s' first European outing of the season finished in a 3-3 draw against Real Sociedad. At the Instalaciones Deportivas Zubieta XXI, the Nerazzurri took a two-goal lead in the opening ten minutes thanks to goals from Sarr and Kamate, only for the hosts to draw level through Orobengoa and Martìn. Matjaz restored Inter's advantage in the 63rd minute, but Martìn bagged another to secure a late point for Mikel Llorente's side.

The Nerazzurri started a thrilling match in excellent fashion, with Maye being pulled back by Mariezkurrena and thus winning a penalty. Sarr stepped up and calmly converted from the spot. High pressing, quick balls forward and use of the flanks: Chivu's side had plenty of desire to kick off their European campaign in the best way possible. They also had the power and speed of Kamate, who scored Inter's second with a left-footed strike from distance (7'). The goal, however, shook the hosts into life, and they responded through Orobengoa, their most dangerous player. Indeed, the No.11 met a cross from the right and fired home to halve the deficit. The match was being played at a very high tempo, and there was a scare for Inter as Garcia hit the post in the 17th minute. Calligaris thwarted Arruti on the half-hour mark, while Zango denied Di Maggio on the counter. Kamate threatened again at the end of the half, sending in two dangerous crosses for Quieto and another for Sarr, who couldn't quite get on the end of it.

The fast pace of the match continued after the restart, with Real Sociedad levelling matters in the 53rd minute: Martìn headed home Mariezkurrena's corner to make it 2-2. However, Inter struck back ten minutes later through Matjaz, who managed to force the ball into the net following a scramble. With less than ten minutes to go, the Nerazzurri came close to adding a fourth through a Spinaccè header from a Cocchi cross, and then came a late blow. In what was a carbon copy of his earlier finish, Martìn nodded past Calligaris to rescue a late draw.
