MILANO - Yann-Aurel Bisseck is a new Inter player. The German defender spoke exclusively to Inter TV, presenting himself to the Nerazzurri fans.
What were your initial thoughts when you received the call from Inter? "Every player dreams of playing for a huge club. And Inter is one of the most important in the world. I was very happy, obviously, and also extremely proud. It's very positive for my career that a club like Inter has shown such an interest in me as a player."
Here, you'll get the chance to play with some great players. Are you ready? "We'll see how it goes; I have a lot of faith. I am ready to get started. I will work my hardest, so I think everything will turn out well."
It's your first experience in Serie A, what are you expecting from the league? "I expect a very high level of football and lots of talent. The teams will be tactically very well-prepared. I will have to adapt, also because I'll be coming up against a higher standard of player than I'm used to. But that's what I want; I'm a competitive player and can't wait to get up and running."
What type of defender are you? "I'm a modern defender: comfortable on the ball, like to play out from the back and score goals. But first of all, I'm principally a defender: I like battles on the pitch, and like to fight and win the ball back, but the best thing I love to see is the frustration on the faces of strikers. I can't wait."
You've played in a back three, can you play both on the right and left? "Last season, I played on the left, but it isn't a problem to play on the right because I am right-footed. I will play wherever the Coach tells me."
You are the sixth German in Inter's history. Out of your predecessors, many players left a huge mark here. Have any of them been an inspiration to you? "It's one of the first things I found out: many Germans have done really well at Inter. I still need to start my career here, but it certainly bodes well for me and my future."
