It's the second day of Qatar 2022 and the first Nerazzurri player has taken to the pitch. Indeed, Denzel Dumfries started the Netherlands' opening fixture against Senegal at the Al-Thumama Stadium in Doha.
The Nerazzurri wing-back played the full 90 minutes as the Dutch ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Gakpo and Klaassen, both of whom scored in the closing stages. Stefan de Vrij didn't play any part in the game.
Following their win against Senegal, Louis Van Gaal's men have joined Ecuador at the top of Group A. Both teams have the same goal difference, with the South Americans having beaten Qatar in the first match of the tournament yesterday. The Dutch and the Ecuadorians will face each other on Friday 25 November on matchday two.
