Brozovic's Croatia are celebrating: thanks to their penalty shootout victory over Brazil, they've qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar. The Nerazzurri midfielder, currently taking part in his third World Cup, started the match and remained on the pitch for 114 minutes, providing the Croatian midfield with real strength. With the game having finished 0-0 after normal time, Neymar put Brazil in front in the first half of extra time, but Petković grabbed an equaliser in the 117th minute. The quarter-final tie was then decided by a shootout as Vlasic, Majer, Modric and Oršić all converted, meaning Rodrygo and Marquinhos' misses were costly. Croatia, who also won on penalties against Japan in the round of 16 and finished as World Cup runners-up in 2018, are now in the semis, where they'll face the winners of the Netherlands vs. Argentina.
