— Jun 23rd 2023Killer balls, perfect crosses and intuition: watch our Top 10 from the First Team, Women and Under 19s
Every goal is born out of teamwork and a well-executed assist is vital in making that final moment count. Killer balls, perfect crosses, set-pieces and great individual creativity: there's all this and more in our 2022/23 Top 10 Assists, powered by Acqua S. Bernardo.
We have selected the best assists of the season from our Men's First Team, Inter Women and Primavera sides. The result is a collection of great moves, rich in technique and vision.
Simone Inzaghi's men scored 100 goals in all competitions: 74 of these thanks to an assist. Top of the list is Lautaro Martinez with ten: El Toro is in our Top 10 for his pass to Robin Gosens at Camp Nou against Barcelona. Behind him is Nicolò Barella, who made nine assists in total throughout the season: of these is the ball through for Federico Dimarco against Juventus in the Coppa Italia. A fundamental factor this season for Inter was the contribution in attack from its defenders: Dimarco, who made the perfect cross for Dzeko against Viktoria Plzen, served up five assists in just the Champions League, while long balls from Bastoni for Barella became ever-present over the course of the season. The number 95 is in our list thanks to his cross for his teammate against Benfica. Finally, there's Denzel Dumfries and Marcelo Brozovic: the first for Dimarco against Roma, and the second with a killer pass that gave Lautaro the chance to get on the scoresheet in the Coppa Italia final win over Fiorentina.
For the Women, Tabitha Chawinga was leading assist-maker with seven to her name, but in our collection we have chosen Ghoutia Karchouni's perfect free-kick for Elisa Polli against Sampdoria. And to close out the Top 10, we couldn't forget the U19 side: out of Chivu's lads, the best assistman was Nikola Iliev, with twelve overall. The Bulgarian is in the list thanks to his great work in setting up Owusu against Empoli. Together with him is Francesco Pio Esposito, after his decisive pass for Iliev against Fiorentina, and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who set up Esposito for his goal in the second leg with the Viola.
