A place for meeting, for exchange, for training. For sharing. On Thursday afternoon, the new library was unveiled at the Suning Youth Centre, a space inside the Nerazzurri's centre dedicated to all the youngsters from the Youth Sector who stay and study at the facility.
Books, films, documentaries, at the disposal of the youngsters, who will thus have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, study and relax by drawing from a vast catalogue.
The inauguration event was attended by the Nerazzurri's Vice President Javier Zanetti and Youth Sector Director Roberto Samaden. After watching the documentary film 'Zanetti Story' dedicated to the Nerazzurri's current Vice President's sporting and non-sporting life, the boarding school children had the opportunity to meet Zanetti himself, who signed one of the walls on which one of his inspirational phrases stands.
“This is a special day and we like that Javier Zanetti is the one to inaugurate the new library. The aim of this place is to link the reading of books to the telling of experiences, of life stories. Often listening to such valuable testimonies is worth more than training on the field. In the coming months, we will launch more events like this one, with the participation of various individuals, including those from outside the world of sport.”

The Nerazzurri's Vice President emphasised the importance of a place like the library, urging the Youth Sector boys to use it regularly, and then recounted his life and career path.
“When I was a child I nurtured the dream of becoming a footballer, but I learnt that education comes first and our Youth Sector pays great attention to this aspect. I was playing in the youth team of Independiente when they told me I was too small in stature to continue. At the time I experienced it as a failure, but I turned it into a great opportunity. I started working with my father as a bricklayer and I realised how hard he worked, every day, to guarantee us a decent life. He taught me that without sacrifice you get nowhere. It was my father who pushed me to try football again.”
“Inter means family, there is a great sense of belonging and you can also feel it in our Youth Sector. The advice I give the boys is to always be themselves and that you learn from your mistakes, they help you to grow. Defeat is a lesson in life that must always be respected, around which we build the victories of tomorrow”
