Serie A, Simone Inzaghi named as Coach of the Month for April

It was an unforgettable and thrilling April for Inter, who won their 20th Scudetto in history. Last month, the Nerazzurri emerged victorious from four out of the five matches they played. April kicked off with a 2-0 victory over Empoli thanks to goals from Dimarco and Sanchez. Then, Frattesi bagged a 95th-minute winner as the Nerazzurri beat Udinese 2-1 on the road. After a 2-2 home draw against Cagliari, Inzaghi's men triumphed in the derby (a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Acerbi and Thuram) to mathematically clinch the title and trigger unbridled joy. Finally, there was the home win against Torino thanks to a Calhanoglu brace.

"Under the leadership of Simone Inzaghi, who has led his team to the achievement of the second star, April saw Inter seal the title," said Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo. "After previously winning the Coach of the Month award in October and January, he's now won it for a third time, which only serves to underline the consistency with which he's led his side over the course of the campaign. He's been able to perfectly manage his squad while maintaining a high standard of football."

For this reason, Lega Serie A has named Simone Inzaghi as the Philadelphia Coach of the Month for April.

The award was assigned by a jury composed of sports newspaper editors, who assessed individual coaches based on technical sports criteria and the standard of the football played by their teams, as well as behaviour/fair play during matches. The award will be presented in the pre-match build-up to Inter vs. Lazio, scheduled for the weekend of May 18-19 2024 at San Siro.
