— Feb 16th 2024The Nerazzurri's captain is now 8th in the all-time Inter goalscorers' list: 20 plus league goals for the third consecutive campaign
Lautaro Martinez is not slowing down. He's climbing the all-time goalscorers list, breaking records and hitting great figures. The Inter captain scored to make it 2-0 against Salernitana, a goal with a lot of significance.
He has now scored 20 league goals in 22 appearances this season; he's hit the 20-goal mark for the third straight Serie A campaign. Before him, the only Inter players to manage this feat were Giuseppe Meazza (five, from 1929/30 to 1933/34) and Istvan Nyers (four, from 1948/49 to 1951/52).
The goal also saw Lautaro move into eighth in the Nerazzurri's all-time goalscorers' list. He now has 125 in all competitions for the Club, having now overtaken Mauro Icardi. El Toro has also become just the second Inter player in the last 60 years to score at least 20 goals after 23 games in a single Serie A season after Christian Vieri in 2002/03 (21).
