2023 has been an unforgettable year for Inter and the fans: a year full of success, emotional nights, many miles run, and unique, indescribable feelings. A year that saw the Nerazzurri win the Italian Super Cup and the Coppa Italia, jewels in the crown of an extraordinary journey that also saw Inter arrive at the final of the Champions League, 13 years since their last participation. A journey together between squad and fans, always alongside the Nerazzurri: a bond that has grown even deeper at the start of this season as Inter sits at the top of Serie A and has qualified for the Champions League round of 16.

2023 draws to an end: ahead of the new year, let's recap the last 12 months through the most significant statistics of the Nerazzurri.

GAMES, WINS, AND GOALS

Considering all competitions, Inter has played 61 games in 2023: this is a record for the Nerazzurri in a single calendar year. Over the course of these 61 matches, Inter has scored 106 goals with an average of 1.7 per game. The Nerazzurri have picked up 39 wins in all competitions, only one less than their record of 40 in 2005.

Considering only Serie A, Inter is the side that has won the most games and scored the most goals in 2023: 27 victories and 79 goals.

RECORD DEFENCE

This season, Inter has registered record numbers in defence: considering the whole year, the Nerazzurri have kept an average of only 0.68 goals conceded per game, the best of all sides in the top 5 European leagues.

Inter is also the only squad in the top 5 European leagues to have picked up at least 30 clean sheets considering all competitions in 2023: the Nerazzurri have picked up 32, nearly equalling their record of 33 from 2005.

Lautaro Martínez has become one of four players in Inter's history capable of scoring 29 goals in Serie A in a single calendar year: the others are Stefano Nyers (32 in 1951), Antonio Valentin Angelillo (31 in 1958) and Giuseppe Meazza (30 in 1930 and 29 in 1933). In total, the Argentinian has scored 37 times.
