Bastoni, Calhanoglu, Dimarco, Gosens all speak after winning the Coppa Italia

A special night as Inter beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the final in Rom to lift their ninth Coppa Italia. At the final whistle, the emotions and thoughts of players post-match:

“Usually we start off games well, but today it didn't happen for some reason. But we showed everyone we can respond to difficulties. We've won another trophy and we're very happy. Credit to Fiorentina because they showed they are a great team. Now, we need to think about the league games coming up and then focus on the most important game of the season. Since January we've really become strong as a group and achieved some fantastic things, like reaching the Champions League fina and winning this trophy. We are just over the moon.”

Alessandro Bastoni

“It was tough and complicated match today. Fiorentina played really well in the second half. We were under pressure, but managed the game well and came out winners in the end. We never give up and we are so happy to have won another trophy. We have a massive game coming up on Saturday which is vital for qualifying for next season's Champions League. As always, the fans backed up and it's just an incredible thing. I can't explain it, I just want to enjoy it. Feeling this love is worth much more than so many other things.”

Hakhan Calhanoglu

“We knew we were coming up against a strong and worthy opponent. Winning this cup says alot because it isn't easy to win it in consecutive seasons. We are over the moon today, but we need to remain calm and take each game as it comes, before then getting ready for the Champions League final. I dedicate this win to my family and our incredible fans. They are the most important thing for us, for how they sing and how they always fire us up.”

Federico Dimarco

“We let in a poor goal at the start, but then showed exactly what type of team we are. We are united and want to fight for each other; we deserved this cup triumph. The word family best describes this squad, or I should say that everyone is united together because with so many games to play, you can only win if you have a group that fights for one another. This season hasn't always gone plain sailing, and some were even saying we were in a crisis a couple of months ago. Our strength this season has been that we have never been affected by things and this has made the difference. We are deservedly in the Champions League final, knocking out some really strong sides and this is only done if you work well and as a group. We are delighted to have won this final, but now we have two more in the league and the biggest one of them all in Istanbul.”

Robin Gosens
