It's the eve of Inter's Champions League clash at home to FC Salzburg, scheduled for Tuesday 24 October at 18:45 CEST. Ahead of matchday three in Group D, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, alongside Head Coach Simone Inzaghi, answered questions from journalists in the game's pre-match press conference:
Does something change when you play in the Champions League?
"Nothing changes, every game is really important for us. We realise we didn't start off in the best possible way against Real Sociedad, but did very well against Benfica, so we want to keep our run going."
Does leading the league change anything? How have you prepared for the game with FC Salzburg?
"We're not looking at the league table right now, the campaign is very long. Next up is the Champions League and we're fired up and ready more than ever. We've already shown, against Benfica, that we want to win these games and tomorrow will be no different; we'll do everything in our power to do that."
You've had a great start to the season, do you want to stay at Inter?
"I feel great here, both in the city and at Inter. I'm doing my best to help the team out. I do my speaking on the pitch. For the rest, I have my representatives who deal with the Club , but I want to stay here."
Did you expect to become such a vital member of the team?
"When speaking with the Head Coach before joining, I told him I'd come to help out the team and give everything to play, but that he made the selection decisions. I've always done everything to try and play and given 100%. I've never been a defensive-minded player, but in the midfield role I play I must try and help out the team in both sides of the game."
After tomorrow's game, up next is Roma in the league...
"Tomorrow, we'll do everything to give a performance. We realise we're coming up against a very strong side, who we faced in pre-season, but we're at home in front of our fans and we want to win for them. Tomorrow's game is massive. Then, we'll start to think about Roma."
What do you think about playing further forward?
"I've mostly played in behind the striker in my career, so if the boss sees me fit there I'll give my best to help out the team. Otehrwise, I'll play where he wants me to. What matters most is to attack and defend together as one; football is a team game, after all."
