A 1 - 1 draw between Juventus and Inter in Turin

— Nov 26th 2023Lautaro responds to Vlahovic's opener: the Nerazzurri remain top
Everything happened in the space of six minutes: the big showdown between Juventus and Inter finished in a 1-1 draw, a result that sees the Nerazzurri maintain their lead at the top after 13 matchdays. In Turin, Juventus opened the scoring through a right-footed effort from Vlahovic in the 27th minute. However, Lautaro grabbed a quick equaliser six minutes later, finishing off a fine Thuram assist. There wasn’t a lot of goalmouth action in the second half, with neither goalkeeper having much to do.
Juventus’ goal came about after a ball was sent down the left for Chiesa. The Italian played it inside for Vlahovic, who steered it into the net with his right foot. It was a very similar goal to the one Rabiot bagged against the Nerazzurri last season at the Juventus Stadium.
It was a blow for Inzaghi’s men, who, however, responded immediately. The equaliser was a masterly display of teamwork, technique and power. From Sommer to Dumfries, from Barella to Thuram. With Bremer trying to stop him in his tracks, Tikus went on the charge before sending in a low cross for Lautaro. The Nerazzurri captain’s movement was excellent as he got in front Gatti, and his right foot did the rest. El Toro’s 13th league goal of the season was certainly enjoyed by the many visiting Nerazzurri fans, who made themselves heard throughout the evening.
The draw in Turin has put an end to both teams’ winning runs and sees Inter remain in first place with 32 points after 13 matches. These have been 13 games where Lautaro Martinez has truly shone: the Argentinian has become the second player in the last 60 years to score at least 13 goals in Inter’s opening 13 matches of a Serie A campaign, following in the footsteps of Mauro Icardi in 2017/18. Now, with 2023 coming to an end, he and the team need to keep on pushing.
