An Inter debut doesn't happen everyday: making your debut in the derby and being decisive in the final stages is even rarer, and even unforgettable. Nicola Zalewski came to Inter last night: the full-back was presented at the BPER Training Centre, where he met Simone Inzaghi and his teammates. Little time spent here, but in the 76th minute of AC Milan vs. Inter, the coach decided to send Nicola on: a display filled with brilliant technique, lots of crosses and important plays. Right at the end, the most important: the chest touch assist for De Vrij's equaliser. At the end of the match, Zalewski spoke of his emotions in his post-match interview:
“Obviously these two days have been a roller coaster for me: last night we did everything we could to enable me to be available today. I think it was a bit of an unlucky match, but we did well to believe in ourselves and get the goal in the end. The coach had hinted that there was a chance I'd be coming on today: it was a great feeling, I have always tried to be ready and help the team, like I did today. I'm with a brilliant group of people, that can be seen from outside: I am always positive and we always believe in ourselves until the final time, like today. I will never give up a centimetre: I am here for this, I am happy to have helped. Darmian told me be calm and that it would've been the best debut with a goal, when the ball came over, I thought about closing my eyes and going for goal, but I stayed calm and provided the assist. I am back with Piotr again, we speak almost everyday: I think he also helped to get me here, everyone has shown me great love. ”
