— Nov 6th 2022The thoughts of the Nerazzurri Coach following the game against Juventus
On matchday 13 in Serie A, Juventus beat Inter 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium. This is what Simone Inzaghi had to say after the game:
"We did really well in the first half and shouldn't have gone into the break with the score at 0-0. That is where the regret lies. We started the second half well, too, but then conceded from our own corner after having hit the bar through Calhanoglu. It's a painful defeat in a big match against a close rival. It hurts, but that's football for you. The result isn't a fair reflection of the game, but we needed to do better in terms of ensuring certain moments go our way. In certain matches, we need to be more attentive when it comes to specific incidents. We need to do more and improve in terms of details because matches at this level are always on a razor's edge. Falling a goal behind can happen, but there was still a long way to go and we were too hasty, becoming disjointed. In the Champions League, we've been able to interpret these matches well. However, in the league, we're yet to find the consistency we had last year. We can't afford to concede the kind of goals we allowed tonight. Right now, we need to aim for more consistency. We'd been on a four-game winning streak, and this game hurts because of the importance of the match and the run we'd been on. We need to recover mentally because such defeats can leave scars. We'll be back on the pitch in three days and want to do as best we can in our final two games of 2022."
