Second Inter appearance for Thomas Berenbruch. The 19 year old midfielder made his first team debut in March, in the Champions League clash against Feyenoord. He made another important entry tonight in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, in the derby as he came on for Correa in the 90th minute for the final three minutes of the match. A night to remember and a thought for his Primavera teammates: Berenbruch didn't travel with Zanchetta's side, who were defeated on Tuesday in Trabzon in the Youth League quarter-finals. Thomas stayed in Milano to train with the First Team. Simone Inzaghi substituted him on at the end of the match.
“The emotion is indescribable. Playing in a derby is something I'd never imagined I'd do until yesterday. Just the three minutes are incredible for me: I've been an Inter fan all of my life, I don't know how many derbies I've watched in front of the TV. To play in one at San Siro makes me so happy. I am very happy, as I was when I made my Champions League debut: it's another piece to add to the puzzle, an unforgettable memory. I'm happy to be part of the first team, it's an honour to train with such a strong group. A thought goes to my Primavera teammates: they were eliminated from the Youth League, but I was close to them despite being far away. I was sad that I couldn't be there, but I am happy for this evening. The match was tight, I could feel the tension from pitchside: we came close to winning it, we believed until the final moment. The season is very rich, I am happy about the journey with the Primavera and with the First Team: playing is always a continuous boost. ”
