REGGIO EMILIA - After their victory in the Champions League, Inter got back to winning ways in the league, beating Sassuolo 2-1 at the Mapei Stadium. It was a game where Edin Džeko stole the show.
100... AND 101
Thanks to his brace against Sassuolo, Edin Džeko has now scored 101 goals in Serie A. Since his Italian top-flight debut in 2015/16, only Immobile (160) has found the net more times than the Bosnian in Serie A. At 36 years and 205 days old, Džeko became the third-oldest player to bag for the 100th time in Italy's top division, after Goran Pandev and Sergio Pellissier.
EDIN AND SASSUOLO
Edin Džeko has bagged eight times against the Neroverdi in Serie A, making them the team he's had the most goalscoring success against. The Bosnian enjoys playing at the Mapei Stadium: he's found the net on six occasions in Reggio Emilia in the Italian top flight.
MKHITARYAN TO DŽEKO
Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided a sixth Serie A assist for Edin Džeko yesterday. Only Salah (nine), Nainggolan (seven) and Pellegrini (seven) have set up the Bosnian to score on more occasions in Italy's top division.
