— Dec 12th 2023A goalless draw at San Siro: Inter finish second in Group D
Inter were unable to break down Real Sociedad and have thus finished second in UEFA Champions League Group D. Following a very complicated and tough game, the 0-0 draw at San Siro leaves both sides on twelve points, but the Spaniards have a better goal difference.
The Nerazzurri’s group stage journey began in the same way it started: with a draw against Real Sociedad. This time, it ended goalless, with Inter failing to score for the first time this season. It’s a result that leaves a slightly bitter taste in the mouth because Inzaghi’s men will now progress to the knockouts as the second-place side from Group D.
In the draw on Monday 18 December, Inter will thus be paired with one of the group winners. The Nerazzurri could face one of the following teams: Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Barcelona or Porto, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund or PSG.
