Inter into the Coppa Italia final!

See you again soon, Rome. On 24 May, we'll return to the capital together to play another final and for another trophy. Inter wanted this Coppa Italia final, and they got it. Once again, we've beaten Juventus, just like we did in last season's Supercoppa and in the Coppa Italia. A goal from Dimarco was the difference, and now the Nerazzurri faithful can dream about winning the trophy again. It was a strong Inter performance all over the pitch, with the only downside being the fact that the Nerazzurri didn't score more. However, after the 1-1 draw in the first leg, one goal was all Inzaghi's men needed. At the Olimpico, we'll face either Fiorentina or Cremonese, and there's no doubt that the Inter fans will be behind the team all the way. Just like they were this evening, with over 75,000 fans in the stands at San Siro.
The aim is to always start strongly, to get at your opponents from the get-go. When you're playing for a final and the match is a Derby d'Italia showdown in a packed stadium, you just can't help but put your foot on the accelerator. Fresh off the back of their win in Empoli, this is exactly what Inter did. Buoyed by Barella's bursts forward early on, Inter came close through Dzeko after just a couple of minutes. The Nerazzurri were playing on the front foot, while Juventus seemed happy to sit back and hope to hit Inter on the counter through Chiesa and Di Maria. Inzaghi's men continued to push for an opener, and they managed to break through on the 15-minute mark. Barella provided the through ball for Dimarco, who, in all sorts of space, sent Perin the wrong way using the outside of his left boot to send San Siro into raptures.
Inter weren't about to settle for what they had; they wanted to strike a knockout blow. Juve, meanwhile, remained faithful to their game plan: nine behind the ball, trying to limit the space and, when possible, go on the counter. While Rabiot looked the most likely Bianconeri man to break between the lines and inflict damage on Inter, Lautaro continued to battle away and almost scored for Inzaghi's side. However, everyone in a Nerazzurri shirt was making a contribution and, even if they weren't able to score a second, the team spirit on display was there for all to see.
After the restart, Juventus, who had only one shot in the opening period (a fantastic Onana save to deny Kostic), failed to raise the tempo even after Milik's introduction. Dzeko netted with a lovely finish from a tight angle, but it was ruled out for offside. The match became less easy on the eye, but the Nerazzurri continued to do the attacking. Dumfries, in particular, was heavily involved down the right flank. He won tackles, got Inter moving up the pitch and, the the 66th minute, played in a fantastic cross for Lautaro, who was just unable to get on the end of it. Inzaghi's changes brought fresh energy to the Nerazzurri, who were thwarted by an incredible stop by Perin as Mkhitaryan let fly from inside the box in the 73rd minute.
It kept Juventus in the game, with the visitors sending on Pogba for the closing stages. But, knowing they were so close, Inter never stopped displaying huge heart and commitment, giving everything to see it through. Onana was solid and raced off his line to foil Chiesa as the clock ticked down. And then came the full-time whistle, much to the delight of the huge San Siro crowd. Our ticket to Rome has been booked: see you at the Olimpico!
