Inter 2 - 2 Bologna
Team
— Oct 7th 2023Nerazzurri on the pitch for Matchday 8 of Serie A
A super start and an incredible goal from Lautaro Martinez weren’t enough to get the best of Bologna. Inter were held to a 2-2 draw at San Siro by the Rossoblù, despite the two-goal lead taken in the first 13 minutes. A flying start, with Acerbi's header and then Lautaro Martinez's fearsome right-footed shot for a 2-0 lead. Inter had the match in control, dominating until the game was changed completely by the goal for 2-1: a penalty given by VAR and scored by Orsolini, which kept Bologna in the game, killing off the Nerazzurro momentum and revitalising Thiago Motta’s team. Zirkzee’s goal at the beginning of the second half, mocking the Inter defence, fixed a 2-2 draw that the Nerazzurri could not turn.
The substitutions, the forward play, the generosity: Inter tried it all, but more with their hearts than their heads. The Nerazzurri’s search for a third was a bit confused and alas, the goal never came. What came instead, was the Nerazzurri’s first draw of the season in Serie A: a bitter 2-2 which brings Inter to 19 points after eight matches. The Nerazzurri are back on the pitch after the break, in two weeks, on 21 September, away to Torino.
