Lautaro scores, Sommer saves: Inter beat Fiorentina!

A massive, vital and hard-fought victory: Inter beat Fiorentina 1-0 at the Franchi and return to the top of the table with one game still in hand. Three well-earned points were achieved with unbelievable heart and determination, and with a touch of class and the head. The goal that decided the game came in the 14th minute: a corner in from Asllani saw Lautaro head home at the near post to grab his 124th goal for the club and become the eighth highest goalscorer in Inter's history. From then on in, both sides had chances, but it was a contest full of duels and, above all, of grit, blocks, tackles and battles.

In the 77th minute, Sommer cemented the result, saving Nico Gonzalez's penalty comfortably low down to his left, after a penalty had been awarded to Fiorentina by VAR. The Viola threw everything at it in the last quarter of an hour, but it was to no avail. Inter victorious!
