Dimarco: "Inter are the team in my heart, I really wanted to renew"

A story that began long ago and a passion that has continued to grow as the years have gone by. In an interview with Inter TV, Federico Dimarco shared his emotions after renewing his Inter contract until 2027:

Federico Dimarco and Inter together until 2027: what does this renewal mean to you? "I'm delighted to have renewed my contract with the team in my heart. I'm so happy because the Club really wanted me to sign the extension, and I did too."

You've been surrounded by the Nerazzurri colours all your life, starting from when you were a fan as a kid. You then progressed through the Club's youth ranks and made it all the way up to the First Team. If you could talk to a young Federico today, what would you say? "I would tell him to believe in his dreams because dreams take you far and help you grow. I've been fortunate that they've helped me play for the team in my heart."

This season, you've already racked up a good tally of goals and assists: you always put the team first, but do you have personal objectives? "I'm happy with what I'm doing, but the team's objectives are more important. It's pleasing to see what the team are doing, and we want to keep it up."

Marcus Thuram said that when he arrived at Inter, you were the first one to write to him and that you told him you'd been waiting for him to join for two years. Is welcoming new arrivals something you just like to do or is it something you feel like you have to do given that you're one of the team's veterans? "It's something I've always tried to do in the teams I've played for. I'm happy to have been able to welcome Marcus, and it's true I was the first one to write to him. I'd been waiting for him to join for two years because I knew him from international youth football."

You have a strong bond with the fans, who obviously feel very close to you. Is there a particular memory with them that you carry in your heart? What message would you like to give them on this special day? "We've experienced many wonderful memories together in the past few years. If I had to choose one, it'd be when I sang with them after our victory over Juventus in the Coppa Italia final. All I can say to them now is that they're going to have to put up with me for a few more years!"
