The final match of 2024 ended with the Nerazzurri winning their fifth consecutive match in Serie A and gaining three points, bringing their total number of points to 40, with a game in hand. Inter end the year by reinforcing extraordinary numbers and records. Another clean sheet, another match won with hunger, ferocity, and quality play. The second half started in the best possible fashion with a goal from the 18th different Inter scorer this season, Alessandro Bastoni, who was set up brilliantly by Niccolò Barella. Barella also provided the cross for Lautaro Martinez, who got back to scoring ways by cementing his place as Inter’s most prolific scorers against Cagliari (10, one more than Boninsegna). Then, once again, the composure and precision from Calhanoglu who scored the third for Inter.
