The first Canadian to represent Inter, the first Canadian to play in Serie A. During our 4-0 victory over Salernitana, Tajon Buchanan made his debut for the Club, coming on for Bastoni late in proceedings. He had a good cameo and lit up San Siro with a couple of strong runs.
Tajon received a warm welcome and the wideman gave a great response. After the game, he spoke to Inter TV and discussed his first game for Inter.
“It's a dream come true. I couldn't wait for this moment to arrive. I worked really hard to be ready and I'm so happy. Now, I need to continue down this path. I was on the left today but I can play in a lot of different positions. I'm adaptable and I want to help the team in a lot of ways. Ever since I arrived, the team's helped me to adapt to our style. The staff, the coach and everyone has given me a fantastic welcome, so I'm really happy.”

Yann Sommer has now kept 15 clean sheets in Serie A this season, equalling his record for a single campaign in one of Europe's TOp-5 Leagues (15 with Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014/15). Part of the reason for this milestone is the consistency of the Nerazzurri's defenders. One of whom is the impeccable Stefan de Vrij, who spoke to Inter TV and DAZN following tonight's game.
“We always tell the ballboys to give us the ball quickly. We took it straight aways tonight and we're pleased with this understanding, which got us a goal. We always try to approach games as best we can and we did that today. We're a strong side because we've been growing together for a number of years. We've worked hard and we've improved. It's an honour for me to be part of this squad. The title race? I think we're still a way off. The road is long and there's a lot of football to be played. Physically, I'm feeling good. I work hard in training to make sure I'm always fit; this is important to me. Tuesday's game against Atletico will be a great match.”
