Inter beat Atalanta in Bergamo!

A wonderful and vital victory earned with sweat in the pouring rain in Bergamo. After 103 minutes, it’s Inter who are celebrating. 2-1 at a stadium where no side had won, where no side had scored this season. The first goal came after a wonderful Calhanoglu through ball for Darmian, who was brought down in the box for an Inter penalty. Hakan stepped up and, as usual, made no mistake from the penalty spot (40’).

Then, after the restart, Lautaro curled home a brilliant effort after 57 minutes. A magnificent finish that proved decisive. That’s because Atalanta pulled one back through Scamacca four minutes later. The scoreline remained that way right until the very end thanks to Sommer’s saves and big performances from those at the back, with the Nerazzurri overcoming a first-half injury to Pavard to emerge victorious. Sanchez and Dumfries could have added a third, but it didn’t matter. Indeed, the only thing that counted was the full-time whistle. It finally arrived, and the table-topping Nerazzurri now sit on 28 points. We keep on pushing.
