GENOA – Simone Inzaghi said Inter need to show more composure in the final third if they want to start winning games regularly again.
The coach was speaking after the Nerazzurri fashioned a host of opportunities against Genoa but failed to make the breakthrough and had to settle for a point from Marassi.
“We didn't get the rub of the green today,” the coach began. “We could have done better in the opening 20 minutes but after that we got a handle on the pitch, which didn't help us at all.
"We definitely deserved a goal in the second half but things aren't going for us at the moment. Clearly we need to do better because had a combined 40 shots against Sassuolo and Genoa and ended up with zero goals.
“There might be a touch of mental fatigue but it's not a problem of fitness. We covered lots of ground against Sassuolo – more than in other games – but perhaps we're not running well. We've gone four matches without winning now and we're not used to it. We'll look at everything carefully and improve so that we can get back to winning ways.
“We've had 40 shots in two games and today we had 70% possession and 14 corners for with none against. We must turn those situations to our advantage because clearly we're not doing enough.
"I'd be worried if we weren't creating anything but we need a touch more composure in the final third. Through hard work we'll get our game back where we want it to be.”
