TURIN - Following Inter's Champions League win over Liverpool this weekend's match saw them only claim a draw away in Turin. Gleison Bremer struck early for the home side, a lucky goal coming from a corner kick and goalmouth scramble. The Nerazzurri were only able to find an equaliser deep into added time through Alexis Sanchez, set up by Edin Dzeko.
"Torino were more aggressive than us in the first half and Etrir Berisha made two top-class saves," Simeone Inzaghi commented to DAZN after the match. "In the second half we deserved to draw level within the first 25 minutes and had we done so we could've won the game. I'm not dissatisfied with our approach; there were some extenuating circumstances but you need to dig deep if you're to win the Scudetto.
"We've lost energy and are missing players at a crucial stage of the season, but this shouldn't be an excuse. We can do better; we've now got ten huge games ahead of us as well as the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals. We need to summon energy, strength, and get missing players back.
"We knew that after the Liverpool game this one would be a tough one. We need to get some positive results which we've been lacking as of late.
"Our points-per-game average has dropped but I'm not concerned; we just have to train harder and better. We can improve by finding out where we've gone wrong in certain games. We're Inter and we can do better, regardless of any fatigue.
"We created a lot of chances this evening. The lads are proud to have proven the doubters wrong from their early season predictions. We're not backing down now and we'll give our all in what remains of the season. Then we'll see what happens."
