TURIN - Matteo Darmian started against his former club Torino on Sunday night. At the end of the match he spoke to Inter TV and gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri's 1-1 draw.
"We knew what kind of game to expect: Torino are a physical team who favour duels. They were the better side in the first half but after the break we improved and created a lot of chances.
"It's a shame that we only got the equaliser in added on time; had we scored earlier from one of the many chances we had in the second half we could've gone on to win the game. We were desperate to come away with three points but unfortunately we go home with just one.
"Generally speaking we're in good shape; we've obviously put in a lot of effort in recent times, so we need to recharge our batteries because we want to give our all in the final ten Serie A games.
"There's still a long way to go in the season and we'll do what we can. Obviously we've got a game in hand and if we win it we'll be closer to the top, but every time we take to the field we need to try to win.
"As for the game against Liverpool, we did well at Anfield. Despite being knocked out we should use that victory as a springboard for the rest of the season."
