Darmian: “We gave it our all and believed until the end”

MILAN – When it’s time to pull out all the stops for a big occasion, Matteo Darmian is the type of player you can always rely on. The wing-back, who was involved in the Alexis Sanchez’s winning goal to earn Inter Super Cup success, spoke to Inter TV after the game.

“It’s always fantastic to win. It’s another trophy that I’ve managed to win after a very tough game. It’s even more pleasing when you earn a victory in the way that we did tonight. I felt we deserved it more than them. We went for it with more conviction and believed until the very last minute. I think it’s a deserved win given all the hard work that we’re putting in. We have to keep it up.

“We expected Juventus to make it tough for us. They were full of confidence because they hadn’t lost in quite a while. When you fall behind, it’s never easy to come back but we did. We played our game and got a crucial win that I dedicate to all the players, the club, the fans and the people who are important to me. We want to achieve more and give the supporters more happy moments.”
