Figures, points of interest and statistics regarding the match scheduled for Monday at 20:45 at San Siro

MILAN - On Monday, at 20:45 CET, Inter host Atalanta at San Siro for what will be the 26th Serie A matchday of the season. The Nerazzurri, who are at the top of the table with 59 points, face off against Gasperini's side with 49 points, who are coming off the back of four consecutive league wins, and boast a goal difference of nine for these four fixtures, having scored 12 and conceded three.

PREVIOUS MATCHES BETWEEN INTER AND ATALANTA

It will be the 120th match between Inter and Atalanta in Serie A. Of the 119 previous games, the Nerazzurri have won 63 to Atalanta's 23 and there have been 32 draws. Inter have won only one of their last six clashes against Atalanta in Serie A (with four draws and one loss) but tend to get better results when playing them at San Siro - of the last six games played against Atalanta there, they have won four and drawn two (the draws being the two most recent fixtures), conceding two goals altogether.

CURRENT PERFORMANCE

For the fourth time in the three points for a victory era, Inter have secured at least 59 points in their first 25 Serie A games. Conte's team have won all of their last nine home games in Serie A, an achievement last equalled in May 2011, when they went unbeaten for 13 home matches. After their win against Parma, the Nerazzurri consolidated their lead as the best attack in the league (62  goals), just ahead of none other than Gasperini's Atalanta side, who have scored 60 goals so far.

At 49 points after their first 25 Serie A games this season, Atalanta have broken their record for points gained at this stage of the season - after 26 games played, they had earned 51 points in the 2016-17 and 2019-20 season.

Atalanta have kept a clean sheet in their last three Serie A away games and have only beaten this record twice in the top flight league: in 1997 and 2016 (with four away clean sheets in both cases). Gasperini's side have scored an average of three goals per match in their last 12 games: in the top five European leagues, no other team has done better (PSG and Bayern Munich have equalled it). Atalanta have 13 players who have both scored at least one goal and provided at least one assist so far in Serie A, another record for the top five European leagues in 2020-21.

PLAYER FOCUS

Romelu Lukaku has made eight assists so far in this season's Serie A: a new record for him, having never previously achieved this in a single season in any of the top five European leagues.

Roberto Gagliardini and Alessandro Bastoni both made their Serie A debuts wearing Atalanta jerseys, making 14 and seven league appearances respectively for the Bergamaschi.

Josip Ilicic's first Serie A goal came against none other than Inter, in September 2010 for Palermo.

Luis Muriel has scored five goals against Inter in Serie A, but none of these came in his three games against the Nerazzurri when wearing the Atalanta jersey - as of 2021, only Romelu Lukaku (13: seven goals and six assists) has been involved in more goals than the Columbian in Serie A, with Muriel having scored eight and assisted four,
