MILAN – Ahead of the announcement on which defender will next be inducted into Inter’s 2021 Hall of Fame, today we are celebrating the last player to be made a Nerazzurri legend in this position, Beppe Bergomi!
Born in Milan on 22 December 1963 he made his debut on 30 January 1980 at just 16 years and 39 days in a 0-0 draw against Juventus in the Coppa Italia.
His record-breaking debut was followed by a long career for the Nerazzurri with 756 appearances and 28 goals during 20 years at Inter. He spent his entire two-decade career at just the one club, bringing his skills, technique and charisma onto the field becoming a role model for team-mates and opponents alike.
Bergomi won the World Cup with Italy in 1982 and with the Nerazzurri he won the record-breaking Scudetto (1988/89), three UEFA Cups (1990/91, 1993/94, 1997/98), an Italian Super Cup (1989) and the Coppa Italia (1981/82).
On the occasion of his 58th birthday the club and our fans wish him an incredibly happy birthday.
