Happy birthday, Gianluca!

MILANO - Reliability, talent and charisma. These are the qualities that made him one of the most beloved and iconic goalkeepers in Inter's history, an iconic figure of the '90s for Nerazzurri fans. Today, Gianluca Pagliuca turns 58. After joining Inter in the summer of 1994, he wore the Nerazzurri shirt for 234 matches, leaving an indelible mark in the hearts of the fans. That extraordinary run in the 1997/98 UEFA Cup, which Inter won after beating Lazio in Paris in the final, remains truly unforgettable.

But the bond between Pagliuca and Inter was particularly forged in the derbies against AC Milan: with him in goal, cross-city clashes were just that extra bit special. Because in ten matches against the Rossoneri, the Nerazzurri never lost once. Fantastic performances, decisive saves and the qualities of a leader: Pagliuca was much more than just a goalkeeper. That's why he was rightfully inducted into the Inter Hall of Fame in 2021, a recognition that cements him among the greatest in Inter's history.
