MILAN - Edin Dzeko has been chosen as the LENOVO Player of the Month for October! While Nicolo Barella claimed the award for September, it's the turn of the Bosnian marksman to receive the recognition from Nerazzurri fans for October.
Inter supporters were keen to get involved in the polls across various social networks. While on Twitter Ivan Perisic came out on top, the votes cast on Instagram and Weibo saw Edin Dzeko come on top when all the numbers were counted together.
The 35-year-old enjoyed a fruitful October, netting three goals and providing an assist in six games. This is a continuation of the good form Dzeko has shown since arriving at Inter in the summer, making his overall record eight strikes in 15 appearances.
The Bosnian kickstarted last month with a strike against Sassuolo after having been on the pitch for only 33 seconds, before winning the penalty for Lautaro Martinez to convert and claim an away victory for his side. He also found the net in Serie A against Juventus, tapping in Hakan Calhanoglu's strike after it had bounced off the woodwork. Dzeko also shone in Europe as well, scoring a beauty and providing Arturo Vidal with an assist in the Nerazzurri's 3-1 win over Sheriff in the Champions League at San Siro.
Dzeko has already equalled the number of goals he scored in the entirety of 2020/21 with Roma. Even more impressively he became the first player in their debut season for Inter to score at least seven goals in their first nine games, a feat not achieved since Ronaldo did so in 1997/98.
