MILAN – Marcelo Brozovic put in a stunning performance against Real Madrid and despite the defeat, UEFA decided to give the Player of the Match award to the Croatian midfielder.
“I’m not that interested in individual awards,” stated Brozovic. “It’s a shame that we didn’t get the goal. It hurts to lose a game like that. We were brilliant in the first half and could’ve gone in 3-0 up at the interval but we then conceded a goal right at the end.
“Based on what we saw out on the pitch, there aren’t that many differences between Inter and Real Madrid, but not scoring was our biggest sin. I enjoyed the way we played without fear. All that was missing was the goal. We have to look at the things we did well after the game and think about where we can improve.
“We now turn our attention to our upcoming games. There are so many fixtures to play. We can’t dwell on Inter v Real Madrid."
